Why BMTI?

Why Choose BMTI?

Your career starts with the school you choose. All schools are not the same.

Here are some important questions to ask:

Is there a vibrant, thriving clinic where students are overseen by instructors?

This is a critical piece to your success as a Massage Therapist. Instructors give you real-time feedback on the techniques you are learning in class as you give massages to clinic clients. By the time you graduate, you’ll have completed up to 50 supervised massages in our clinic, making the transition from student to professional seamless.

Going to a school without this sort of clinical experience leaves students feeling less confident and less prepared, compared to our graduates who see a range of clientele from 18-96 years old with a variety of conditions. You will leave school with more tools to handle each client who walks through your door.

Are students successful on their licensing exam?

BMTI has 100% pass rate on the MBLEx national licensing exam. The national average pass rate is just 72%. Most students take the exam within a week after graduating and without studying – our program prepares you that well.

What is the school’s philosophy?

Balance is BMTI’s core foundation. Science, heart and craft of massage are equally emphasized so that you can offer quality massage that is clinically competent and healing.

Who will be teaching you?

A faculty should have both teaching experience and experience in massage therapy. A good number of them should be elders in the field. Students report the faculty as being one of the best parts of their experience at BMTI. Our faculty have longevity in the field, are passionate, plus they all have teaching experience. Check out our faculty page

What credentials should a school have?

A school should be overseen by a credible governing agency such as State and Professional organizations who regularly review a school to ensure they are financially and educationally sound.

The Boulder Massage Therapy Institute is committed to quality education and excellence.

√  Approved and regulated by the State of Colorado, Division of Private Occupational Schools Board.

√  Is a National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB) Assigned School

√  A member of Associated Massage and Professional Bodyworkers (ABMP).

This the only formal process required by the State of Colorado, it is not referred to as ‘accreditation’, rather, ‘regulation’.
